How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfers helped us clear the huge school fees debt and medical bills that we had. Before the cash transfers, we depended majorly on agriculture though not so profitable. The cash transfer empowered us to get out of the debt burden.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my own opinion, GiveDirectly does well to send people cash transfers. I do not see any wrong thing that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent all the UGX 1600000 to purchase iron sheets.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life has improved in that, I dress decently and feed on a balanced diet. In the past, I could hardly change my diet and dress decently for lack of money.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt too happy when I saw the money in my phone. It was very humbling receiving such an amount because it didn't happened to me before.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have used my first transfer to pay school fees, medical bills and for buying food as well as clothing. I have also saved UGX 500000 for future use.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to take care of the education needs of my children, and build an iron roofed house for my household. I will be able to have a descent accommodation and pay school fees in time.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I am listening to music over the radio. I feel relieved.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of money to take care of the education needs of my children. My household depends on agriculture which is very unreliable. I sell part of the harvest in order to raise money that can clear off the education needs. However, it is usually not enough considering the fact that some times the harvest is really poor.
