Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
" Receiving this money was so exciting because, my wife got sick and I took her to Ivory Coast for treatment. Before leaving, I credited 20,000LD for her medical bills. Therefore, I was very happy because I was thinking how to pay the money I borrowed". Moreover, I planned to complete my house with the transfer. So I also thought on it".
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
" There are lots of changes now in my life. The first thing is that I was able to pay my dept in time. Secondly my wife will be proud of me, for being a man of my word. Lastly, I will able to complete my house. I started the process, but could not complete it because I didn't have money. But with GD intervention, I will be able to change the whole house design. I'm so grateful for this institution".

" I spend my transfer on 2 major things. 20,000 was spend on dept and the remaining portion was used to make dirt briks. I initially planned to complete my house, but due to my wife illness I was compelled to borrow money. However, I'm glad that I was able to settle my problem".

What does receiving this money mean to you?
" I am the commissioner of this district and the salary I usually get is not enough to care for my family for two weeks. I'm also into farming but on the farm, I made this year, the animals ate all my crops. My children are attending school in zewdru and I have other relatives for that I am also paying their school fees. Paying all these children's school fees is not an easy task. When I received the transfer from GiveDirectly, I will invest a portion of it into a business where I could raise fund to care for my family and build a new house".
What is the happiest part of your day?
" Last month, the Vice President of Liberia visited our town and she give the community members a little amount of money. We shared the money and I was about to buy food for my family that week. That got me excited. I am also happy for GiveDirectly working in my community today ".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
" Everything is expensive these days, we usually have food to eat but it's not enough. I usually spend 75% of my salary for food. We don't have save drinking water in our community, the two hand pump is not in good condition. We usually get our drinking water from zleh town. For that reasons, the challenges I am facing lack of finance and save drinking water".
