How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I actually thought of building a new house but my wife did advice me to use the payment and buy cement to plaster the house and put floor. My focus now is to see my house being plastered with cement and the floor covered with concrete. In addition, when I shall have finished with the plastering and floor putting, my plan is to buy paint and paint the entire house for it to look beautiful.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does well by allowing me to decide what to do with my money. People have different priorities, what I want it is not what you want but by allowing me to decide what to do with the money given me is well in the right direction and I can proudly say that GiveDirectly is the number one organization I have seen that the workers do not accept a gift from the recipients. I have not seen anything yet that GiveDirectly is doing wrongly since the day it commenced work in this community.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Through the transfers I was able to buy zinc and nails to reroof my house. I was able to buy cement bags to plaster and put floor in my house. Even the guy that did all the masonry work on the house it was from the transfer I received from GiveDirectly I was able to paid him. I am so grateful to GiveDirectly for this opportunity. I never thought of plastering my house but with the money GiveDirectly gave me I am now able to plaster my house and hire someone to work for me.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was on my farm underbrushing my garden when the message came to my phone that I have received forty thousand three hundred seventy five dollars from GiveDirectly. I stopped working and went to the farm kitchen where my wife and the children were. With a smile, I told her that our money from GiveDirectly has been sent.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My plan is the to beautify the house( plaster, put floor, paint and funitures). As you can see the house is not plaster and the floor aswell, the dust can really give us hard time, all of our clothes and dishes gets dusty and we even come down with fresh cold.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months it was last month that brought joy to me. I have 5 children, two is in the city , one in Buchanan, and the others lives with us. Of recent I have been over worried about there tuition and as God could have it, my oldest sister in Buchanan took the one that stays with her burden from my head.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major challenge now is money. As the saying goes, money answered everything. I want to beautify my house, sent my children good school and eat good food but I can't do them, because of Money.
