Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My daughter did very well in her final exams last year and she is set to join University in September. As a parent, I have to cater to her education so that she would have a brighter future and support our family. I intend to save my next transfers so that I would be able to pay for her school fees once she will join.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Transfers which I have been receiving from Give Directly I got to save through merry-go-round. Three months ago, two of my children were joining high school and I needed some finances to support them. Luckily, I had just received the collection that month which enabled me to pay their first term fees with less struggle. Having managed to pay school fees with the accrued savings which I made from the transfers was a great achievement for me and I thank Give Directly for that.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I believe that I would need more finances to support my children and also to cater to other family needs. My prime goal is to save much as I can so as to support my children's education. What I will be remaining after saving, I intend to spend it on buying farm inputs so that when I get to harvest the produce I would have food for the family. The surplus, I would sell to generate income which will enable me to support my children in school.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
As the new year starts, there being the normal routine of school fees payment, I now have a new goal to continue saving towards purchase of a cow. I have been in this savings plan since last year and in the next four months, I will have accumulated enough money to purchases a heifer. This will be helpful to my household since it will at least cut the cost of the daily milk purchase and also earn us some income since we will be selling any surplus.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In my daily life, the biggest difference since I started receiving the transfers is my ability to pay and clear school fees for my four children. Initially, I would find it so hard to clear the payment but so far I am finding it so easy since the monthly transfers are enough to cover up the costs of many expenses in my household. I am now glad that one just completed form four and the results are so good.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
With the current plans I have, I expect a lot of changes in my life in the next six months. An obvious change will be the purchase of a cow since I am already saving for one.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Looking back to the last four months and making a close comparison with my current life, I really see a lot of differences which have come my way. It was really so hard before to lay down plans since I never had sufficient capital of establishing whatever I would have wished to accomplish. GiveDirectly opened a way for me and currently, I have some great plans and goals which are all possible to run with the help of the monthly transfers I have been receiving.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Even though I am receiving a consistent transfer from GiveDIrectly every month, it has been my prayer that I find another source of money to help me initiate other additional projects in our household. At the moment I have an additional goal to start a poultry farming which I believe will help me a great deal in income generation. I have picked on this project since it is way too good and simple to establish under small scale management. I am currently constructing a chicken coop which will then lead me to the next stage of obtaining chicks for the start of the project.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Ever since I started receiving GiveDirectly transfers, I have been working hard to see that I clear all the debts and areas I had in school to enable my children to get an ample time studying in school. This has been going so well and in the last four months, I am grateful that I had not been having any debt. I have been able to clear all the required school fees for the whole term which is the biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I am hopeful that the project which I have just picked on poultry farming will be fully established. The construction of the chicken coop which I have just started constructing will only take at most one month to be completed and in the following months, I will be working on obtaining chicks from the hatchery and using the extra money on buying chicken feeds.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
We have been experiencing drought in the past four months which led to a food shortage in our locality. Since I am among the beneficiaries of Give Directly, I normally receive transfers. This money has always helped me to comfortably manage my budget. We rarely lack food because almost everything is catered for. It would have been very difficult for my family because of the condition we had four months ago. There were no casual jobs to do and food was very scarce.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have always been interested in poultry keeping. Currently, I have a few chickens which have been very helpful to me. I am planning to invest more in poultry farming. I have been saving the money I normally get Give Directly in order to expand my poultry farm. I know this business will help me earn more and get a reliable source of income through the sale of eggs. If all goes well I will quit doing casual jobs for good.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The greatest challenge I ever had was where and how I would get money to pay for my children'school fees. I don't have a stable job, I depend on casual jobs to make a living, therefore, seeing my kids finish schools was like a dream. Since I got enrolled in this program I have been receiving monthly income which I use to pay school fees for them. Now am happy that my children are never sent home for school fees. Finally, there is hope for them to finish school and this is the biggest difference.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I am planning to build a poultry house in the next six months. I have plans to expand my chicken-rearing business and increasing the building is my start off point. I will then increase the number of chicken with time. Once I fully establish this business, I know I will be good to handle any financial problem that comes my way.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have been able to join a table banking group of ten members where we contribute KES 1000 each from the transfers. Before receiving transfers I did not have the savings culture. I am quite certain that soon I will reap the fruits of saving by buying a dairy cow.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I will still be focusing on clearing my children's school fees. I will also keep contributing to my savings in a table banking to buy a dairy.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life is that I can afford to pay school fees and get my family's basic needs. I rely entirely on farming as a source of living, I usually plant potatoes, beans, and tomatoes for sale. Long dry spells in the last one year have greatly affected my crops rendering me poor. When I got the transfers I have been able to meet all the needs of my family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I would like to improve my house. I would like to cement the floor and furnish it. I have been saving for this for a while now and transfers will help me top up and make my long-time dream come true. I am also planning to buy a water tank. This will enable me to get clean and safe water for my family to drink through harvesting clean water. Buying a water tank will reduce my family's workload since safe water is many miles away. This will enable us to focus on dairy farming hence more income.
