How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My main goal is to improve my house and make it more comfortable for my family, my house has spent over ten years, since my husband is sick and don't have the strength to help me anymore, I decided to do my best to see this change. I also want to keep supporting my five children in school until they can graduate, that is why I really want to improve the business I am doing to raise more money for my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by sending us the transfers through our mobile money accounts without any third party being involve, they are also kind and patient during their time of interviews with us, they help us unconditionally which makes me to feel more valued. I don't have anything to say against GiveDirectly because all the processes in their program is okay.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my third transfer to buy building materials to start fixing my house, I also used some of it to pay my children school fees, I bought food for my family too and I saved the remaining amount.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"If I am successful to receive this cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I will start up a business here in my town, send my children to school and build my house. My husband barely see clearly and he is unable to provide for the home; I am the bread winner now. The little business I do provide only food for the household, nothing else. I believe by using the cash transfer this way will help maintain my family and we will always have what we need."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"What has brought joy or happiness to me in the last six months is, the blessings of God that my market sells well. I am always grateful and happy for the little money I get for the business I do; it feeds my family and that makes my so happy."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The challenge I'm faced with is finance. My husband is 90% blind and he is unable to work and provide for the family anymore. The burden is now on my shoulders and the business I do doesn't raise much finance to take care of our household needs. The house that we live in is falling and my children are currently out of school because of finance."
