Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment i received the money I was so elated. I was awoken by the confirmation message early that morning. I then started visualizing my laredy plants turning into actions.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the home improvement. I have for along time needed to plaster the walls and place steel windows and a door for it to stand properly. I am so happy to have seen this implemented because I have already bought them.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent the money I received on buying building materials for improving the walls of my house. I bought sand, doors and windows. I have been living in house that needed regular smearing to maintain it. I then bought foodstuffs for the household.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
During prolonged droughts here, water becomes a major challenge. Receiving this money will allow me to buy a 3000 litre capacity water tank using my first transfer, at a cost of about $230. I will use about $150 of the remaining amount to build a better and raised shelter for our goats and sheep.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am a fulltime housewife. I take care of our children and spend most of my time during the day looking after the livestock, especially my chicken. I enjoy tending my chicken because they provide a few eggs at the end of the day and I don't need to over bother my husband on personal needs.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Our land is located in a rocky place and literally live on top of rocks. Every time we practice farming especially maize crops, they hardly make it due to scorching sun and insufficient water in the soil. Thus we have had to over depend on my husband's motorcycle taxi business to provide for all our basic needs in the family –which is never enough.
