What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my entire third transfer on enrollment in a Teachers’ Training College. I always planned to do so but could only save a little at a time from my shoe business that I ran before joining College. When I got enrolled as a GD recipient this was a great opportunity for us and so my husband and I planned in such a manner that we would spend both my first and second transfer to first buy a motor cycle for transportation business and as a source of income, and this way we can also be saving to help finance my Teacher’s Training. This way we could at least invest my third transfer on my enrollment. I thank GD very much for helping me achieve my dream sooner than expected, and I am confident that we will manage to finance the rest of the way.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I invested my first transfer on poultry farming, a business I began a year ago though had not stabilized due to shortage of operational funds. I worked with a mall number of poultry animals and in most occasions, my clients would miss the right number of animals demanded. Quantitatively I would say, I served just a quarter of the total number of customers in a day. Getting enough cash to improve the business was a big challenge, but through GiveDirectly I may confess that my desire was answered. As I speak,I now own very big structure full of poultry that serves comfortably any customer who visits the farm.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy when I received my transfer, as all that I desired to do to improve my poultry farming would finally be accomplished. Much appreciation to GiveDirectly and all its staffs.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we are currently facing is rampart waterborne diseases due to lack of clean water caused by lack of rainfall.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest moment of the day is in the morning when we all (me and my family) wake up well and ready for the day's activities.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
I feel so excited about receiving this money since we will be in a position to re-open our business which collapsed due to lack of enough capital.
