My plan is to continue saving apart of the monthly transfer with the aim of buying a dairy cow. This will be useful in our family because I will stop spending money to buy milk because it will supply us with some. The calves from this cow will also help us in future in case of emergencies as we can sell them.

When I started receiving these transfers from GiveDirectly, I was able to save and buy some sheep and chicken from the little savings. When my daughter finished her primary education and was transiting to high school, I did not have any money. I, therefore, sold the livestock, topped up with some savings I had and paid my daughter's fees and all the needed stuff. The biggest difference is the fact my child has settled in school, all fees paid with the help of the transfers I got from GiveDirectly.

We currently live in a small sloped roofed house with my family. The small house is quite congested since my family is quite a big one. My expectation in the near future is to have built a bigger and better house that will comfortably accommodate us. I also want to ensure that my children continue with their education with minimum hitches. The biggest difference in my daily life that has happened over the last four months is the payment of school fees for my daughter who just started her secondary education. I never thought I would be in a position to pay school fees for my daughter but with the proceeds from my merry go round, I was able to pay the fee in time and gave my daughter an opportunity to start her education without any difficulty whatsoever. We are a group of six people all of us receiving money from GiveDirectly and we decided to start a merry go round where we contribute at least KES 2000 per month. It is through this merry go round that I was able to raise school fees for my daughter and I feel so much proud of accomplishing this noble responsibility and making my daughter happy.

In the next six months I expect my life to change in that I shall be more economically empowered than I am as at now. I expect to have bought more assets from the monthly merry go rounds that I undertake and be able to pay school fees for my children as well as do other family investments that will improve our living standards as a family.

Currently, I can afford to buy myself some good clothes and get enough food. I am happy that this has made me happy since I look good in it. Initially, I couldn't afford to get extra money for buying clothes since income was too little and would not even cater to my basic needs.

The additional goal which I have is to cultivate more land which we have to plant more onions. Since we got some piece of land which lay idle, I would invest my next transfers to earn more income after three months after planting the onions.

The greatest difference in my life currently is the onions which I recently planted. I spent my July transfer to prepare a piece of land for planting onions. Onions do well in our region and this will help me raise school fee for my children and also cater to my other family needs when I get to harvest and sell the produce.

Receiving this transfer means a lot to me. I believe after I harvest the onions I will put together with my next transfers and start up a business. I am thinking of boutique since the market within my locality is high and this will give me a great opportunity to sell clothes. This will enable me to have a sustainable source of income.

The biggest difference in my life ever since I started receiving help from Give Directly is that I am now able to pay my children's school fees without straining too much. Since I also invested in my farm, I can now produce enough food for my family. I normally sell the extra food I get in order to earn more cash, hence an additional source of income.

My new goal is to start a small tea leaves retail business. I plan to open this business because there is none at the moment in our area and therefore I will have little on no competition and chances of this picking up and becoming successful is also very high. I normally do casual jobs but it drains me a lot. They are usually very tiresome and low paying. I also want to be independent and be able to manage control of my own business because it has a lot of freedom and flexibility.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I no longer strain my self. Initially, I would do several casual jobs in order to meet my daily needs. Since Give Directly came into my life, I have been able to comfortably manage my farm. This means I no longer work to get food but work for other non-pressing issues. I also get enough food from my farm hence helps me avoid spending on such. Once in a while, I may do casual jobs in order to settle my other needs but it doesn't have to be on a daily basis.

My expectation in the near future is to be financially stable and be able to facilitate quality education for my children. I have a plan of starting a business. I believe when this business catches up, it will help me reach my other goals. One of them is building a more comfortable house that would help ease the usual days hustles. I am glad that Give Directly came through and brought the dream closer.

Four months ago paying school fees for my children in secondary school was quite a challenge. I also did not have a saving culture. My children could stay home sometimes due lack of school fees and this caused a lot of distress for me and my husband. At the moment the transfers got us covered as far as paying school fees is concerned. We are much happier unlike four months ago. We have also been saving through a table banking group that we formed and soon we are going to reap from it by buying a dairy cow.

When we first received the transfers we realized that we could not do much with it since it was such a small amount. We then came up with an idea to form a table banking group with 9 other like-minded people in our village. This was going to enable us to save enough to buy assets. In the next four months, my savings will have matured and I am planning to use them to buy a dairy cow. It will be like a dream come true since it is the first time owning a cow. Hopefully, the cow will calf soon enough and buying milk will no longer be an expense for my family. I also hope to get extra income for my family from the sale of milk.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I really clothe well and I can also do nice haircourtesy of the tranfers. I used to have esteem issues since I used to dress in torn clothes. It was so bad that I no longer attended functions and church service. When I received the transfers, I went o the market and bought new clothes and even did my hair. I am now even more confident. I attend functions and church services. Poverty had really reduced me to an antisocial person but my confidence is back thanks to GD.

In the next 6 months, I will have hopefully cleared school fees for my children. One of three of my children in secondary school will be sitting for their final year examinations at the end of the year. I would really love to clear her school fees soon enough so that she gets ample time to study as she prepares for her final exam. Seeing her home whenever she is sent for school fees really breaks my heart since it will affect her academic performance. If all goes well and her fees are cleared I will be a happy mother as I am certain of good grades.

I am so happy now that i do not strain my body very much unlike before when i work very hard at the risk of my health.

I am planning to lease a land that i will do serious farming of a large scale.

I am very happy now that my child is in a good private school that i could not afford if the G.D transfer.

I expect my life to change in that i will want to own a dairy cow and start a business that will give me money to help my children.
