How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I had a cow which died just before we received these transfers, its loss caused me a lot of pain as it was the only livestock I had. This was also because I had really struggled to save the money to buy the cow at the expense of my own family's needs which I had to put on my wife. With the money that I received, I was able to purchase another cow which has helped me to completely heal and
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have been planning to pay my wife's dowry for quite some time now but the plan has never been due to financial difficulties. With the money that I received from GD, I will purchase the necessary requirements and hold the ceremony as soon as possible.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Over the last few months, I have been living a stressful life due to the pressure that I have been receiving from my wife to pay for her dowry. I was unable to raise the money to buy the required items for the ceremony which led to my stress, but now that I have the money and will soon conduct the ceremony, I am happier and less stressed.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My wife has been constantly reminding me about the dowry payments as she is also getting a lot of pressure from her parents who want the ceremony performed before the end of the year. This has been causing a lot of arguments between us because I feel that she does not understand that I also want it done as much as she does but not able to do so due to financial difficulties. Now that I have the money for the dowry payment, I expect to have more peace in my house in future.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is living in a crowded-leaky-thatched house. This has been more stressful during rainy seasons when my family and property get drenched.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning because the weather is always very conducive for farm work. This makes me more productive on my farm.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on buying house building materials (iron-sheets, timber, nails) and building an iron-roofed house. I am also planning to spend the rest of the transfer on hiring a piece of land for farming.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement was three years ago when I harvested 7 bags of maize and a bag of beans after using fertilizer on my farm. This ensured that my family was food secure for a period of time during which we were cushioned against hunger.
