What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on buying a dairy cow . I bought sofa set seat and a table . I also paid medication fees for my biological father who was ailing.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if you never received the transfer as I am happly and peaceful at heart since I am living in a spacious decent house which accommodate my family and when I have visitors they admire how far I have come as opposed to before when I was staying in a small squeezed house which privacy wasn't maintained.I also have a dairy cow which I didn't have before and now I am hopeful that it will reproduce in the near future and expand my herd of livestock.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by giving unconditional cash transfer to the poorest households in my village and now the living standards of this individual household their living standards have improved positively.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on building an iron roofed house at 35,000 KES, bought a sack of maize at 5,000 KES, water tank at 1,400 KES, used 1,500 KES to weed my farms then used the rest of the cash on food and other little house errands.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that am now able to host my visitors without any shame because I now have a decent and spacious house.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent part of my first transfer to buy dry maize for food since drought had really reduced our crop yield last season. The rest was all pumped into maize farming.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt excited when I received the money because it is then that I believed Give Directly was true to its word and that we will get real support from them.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
We plan to make a spacious house since we are congested in this one roomed house that we currently live in. If we are left with some we will use as capital to boost our small businesses of foodstuffs.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
Our proudest achievement is that we have been able to survive on the proceeds of our small business and still maintain the business in a harsh economy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The major hardship is in finding a stable income source since opportunities are scarce.
What is the happiest part of your day?
We are happy most part of the day because we are alive. We also don't have marital conflicts.
