When I received my transfer l decided to build additional building materials for my house. I also bought enough food for my family. The rest of the money I was able to buy my children Christmas clothes.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly did very well in my life and that of our village. Givedirectly has changed our entire village with so many new building in our village. Givedirectly make me build new house, and also givedirectly make all my children in school, I am so happy that givedirectly was able to enroll everyone in my village. There's nothing that givedirectly hasn't done well
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I bought additional building materials to continue my house, the house I'm living in right now is our family house, and it's has leakage all over the roof. That's why I decided to build a new house. My first and second transfer I decide to put all in building materials. That is my goal.

What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received my second transfer from GiveDirectly, I've changed my previous plan of fixing the roof on my old house to building a new house. Hence, a huge portion of my transfer was used to purchase building materials for the construction of my new house. I bought 3 bundles of zinc for $12,000LD each (3×12=$36,000). I used portion of the money to register my 3 children in Yarpah Town Public School. The remaining portion of my transfer was used to transport the zinc ( $1500 × 3= $4500LD) from Buchanan to Toby. I'm really excited as I looked forward to building my house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own point of view, GiveDirectly own idea of giving us money to improve our poor status is out of this world. I having observed anything negative about GiveDirectly since I started receiving transfer. These people have done so much to make our lives better. I am thankful to God for everyone at GD who is working tirelessly to change our poor lives through money transfer.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Presently, the roof of my house is falling apart. The thatch is very old and when it rains, the entire house gets wet from leakages. My children suffered from cold most often because the house is always wet from rainfall due to the old and leaking roof. So, I decided to earn money through farm work to pay someone replaced the old thatch with new one. However, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought 3 bundles of zinc to build a new and bigger house for me and my three (3) children. Some of the money was also used to register my children in Yarpah Town Public School. Therefore, building a new house instead of replacing the thatch on my old house has been my newest goal.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since i started receiving money from Givedirectly has been my ability to now get better treatment for my health condition. I am also able to buy provisions for my children and pay my children school fees. In the past farming was the only source of livelihood for me and my family. My health condition was the greatest challenge but with the help of Givedirectly I was able to go to a bigger hospital for good and proper treatment. There's now smile on the faces of my kids daily because of GiveDirectly.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
"I was in the hospital taking treatment when my phone alarmed. I read the massage, it was a massage from Givedirectly . I was very happy and wanted to dance but, i couldn't dance because of my condition. I quickly call my husband and he when and withdrew the money on that same day. We are not only happy but very grateful to Givedirectly for the opportunity. I have not been well and there is not enough money to take of my current health condition. I am so very happy because with this transfer I am going to use some to get better treatment.
