How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
As I indicated earlier, I was a pauper, with nothing to depend on. Being that I have got children to feed, clothe, educate, and provide shelter to, it could be difficult to meet all the demands and this forced me to go and work on sugarcane farm in order to get what we could eat. At the moment, that is a thing of the past and I have things which were just dream to me in my entire life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Personally, GiveDirectly has taken me to a certain level when it comes to poverty reduction. I was a pauper amongst my kins but now I can count so many things which I have but was a dream in my life. I have paid fees for my children, which initially was difficult to do. Demand for resources is a continuous issues depending on our day to day economic demand. I was suggesting that the organization should consider us in future, for our economic stability.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on buying building materials and built a house for my son who has been married with one child but has no house because he is jobless. I also bought two sheep to start sheep keeping project for future use. Sheep breeds so first and within a short time, I would be able to gain the profit out of this project. I also bought some food stuff that would take the family up to the time of next harvest. Very soon, we shall embark on farming and therefore need food security.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to buy cows so that I shall be able to have milk and collect their cow dung for organic manure for my farm. Givedirectly have now empowered me so that my family will be able to have enough food.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is usually in the evening when I am back from the market with some little food for the family. The fact that I have some food to prepare for the family and talking to them as I prepare the meals brings that joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am faced with is lack of customers in the market with many people doing the same business and therefore we make very little sales that cannot sustain my family food and medical needs, like recently I got admitted I had to sell my furniture to pay hospital bills.
