Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal for the next four months is to invest in poultry farming. I chose to venture into this business because of the low cost of production as compared to dairy farming. Apart from that, the demand for eggs and chicken in this region is also high. I believe that with no time the business will have grown. There is hope of becoming self-employed and earning a better amount of money compared to what I used to get from casual jobs.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that, for the first time since I stated earning I was able to save. I was able to join a table banking group and saved a good percentage of the amount I received from Give Directly. Saving from table banking assisted me in clearing school fees for my child who is currently in Secondary school. I am happy because were it not for this group, I would be forced to sell one of my heifers. I am hopeful to add more instead. I feel lucky and blessed to among the beneficiaries of this organization
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation is that my life will change to be better because I believe my poultry project will have stabilized. The income from the sale of eggs and poultry will help me meet my household needs. Besides, I also have a son who recently completed University. As soon as he acquires a job, he will also contribute a lot in supporting his siblings by paying their school fees. This is why I will ensure I don't let him down by paying his school fees and ensuring he finishes school

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I do farming to support my family. Even though I practice mixed farming, the farm size is always limited. With my ambitions to expand this, I leased another farm to enable me to invest much in farming. I am so happy now because I know in a few months to come, I will have a bumper harvest with which after selling them, I am sure of a good income from it. Besides, With some savings I had, I opted to purchase a dairy cow mainly for the production of milk for household consumption. This has not only saved my budget but also, I no longer worry about my family lack of milk considering milk is a must-have in our household

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that, I own three goats which I did not have before. The reason for settling on this idea was because their gestation period is short compared to that of a cow and one can easily find a market for them whenever he/she wants to sell. I am hopeful that they will reproduce in the foreseen future and increase in number. Selling some of them will be the option in order to meet the necessary financial crisis such as paying school fees for my children.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
At the moment, the additional goal for my life in the next four months is to buy a dairy cow which will enhance the expansion of my dairy farming project. I will use the finances issued to me from our merry go round group since I have some savings out of GiveDirectly's transfers.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have started keeping poultry because it has been my prioritized dream. Unfortunately, inadequate finances have been a deterring determiner to pursue it for a long time. My wife has been giving me a hand by actively looking after the poultry which makes her engaged unlike before when she was a housewife. I feel she is empowered because part of the token she gets from this project enables her to buy the basic necessities for our family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, I intend to expand my dairy farming project by buying another dairy cow using the upcoming transfers. How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different in that I have been able to pay school fees in time and at the same time been able to feed my family and meet other household needs without any difficulty. Initially, It was hard for me to balance between paying school fees and being able to feed my family successfully as well. With GiveDirectly transfers, I have been able to balance the two successfully. I have also been able to make other small investments that has generally increased the income available for family use. My family is just a happier family than it was four months a go My life is different in that I have been able to concentrate on paying school fees and at the same time able to meet most family needs without having to stress myself.,
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
One of my biggest goals and which am optimistic about achieving it is that of buying land for one of my children. This, I plan to do by saving more money from my transfers and other investments that I have and later selling some of my valuable assets to help accumulate enough money to buy land. The land that we are currently staying in will not be enough for all of us and thus the need for more land for my family members. This land will also give us more land for cultivation and hence increase in food production. Proceeds from my farm shall greatly help me in realizing the dream of buying land. This, I plan to do within the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life that has happened over the last four months is that I have been able to participate successfully in a merry go round that has enabled me to buy a dairy cow for our family. This has also enabled me to pay school fees in time and without having to go through the stress of looking for casual jobs to help me meet most of my needs. Life for me was a little difficult considering that I often had to work for longer hours just to get some extra income that could sustain my family and keep my children in school. Despite the endless struggle to do this, I often got very little money from my hustles that was hardly enough for me to feed the family. GiveDirectly transfers has enabled me to work less and still afford to meet most of my family's needs with little difficulty.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I am focused on starting a poultry project. This, I want to start by fencing the compound and building a chicken house in the next two months. I will then assemble the necessary resources in terms of money for buying chicken and feeds in the next four months. This will greatly boost my income and ensure that we meet most of the family's needs with ease.
