How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been living underneath a thatch roof house for a very long time. Due to poverty, I have not been able to change the thatch roof over my house and place a better roof. When I started to receive the transfers from GiveDirectly, I was so much happy because I could not afford to earn such amount of money to do anything better for myself. Through the transfer, I have been able to renovate my house and place a better roof over it which is iron sheets. I also spend some of the money to buy two goats, a nani and a billy. Through these goats, I will be able to earn more money to sustain me and my family in the future if they reproduce.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion about what is not done well by GiveDirectly, I have not seen anything that is not done well. GiveDirectly have done very much well by helping me and my community dwellers by placing us on it's unconditional cash transfer program to improve our lives economically. I am so much happy an thankful for this great opportunity. Thanks to GiveDirectly for everything.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received my recent transfer from Givedirectly, I was so much sick so I decided to spend some of the transfer on my health. The remaining portion of it, I used it to buy some food to regain my strength. The remaining portion of the money, I was able to invest it into agriculture and cattle raising. I believe that through the means of agriculture, I will be able to raised more money to sustain me and my family and also send my children to a better school to achieve a quality education for a better future.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No! I don't have any new goals. Our house is not in a good condition. During the rainy season it leaks. We have been wanting to build a new house. Unfortunately, we haven't been able due to the lack of money. My husband and I are farmers. Things haven't been good with us. Our children dropped from school because we could no longer afford their tuition. I was so excited when I received my payment. Hopefully, after receiving all of the transfers our lives will get better.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly is not doing anything unwell. It is giving us unlimited cash and asking for nothing in return. This is an amazing opportunity that we are so grateful for. Hopefully, after receiving all of the transfers our lives will improve.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Things have been hard on us. My husband and I are farmers. We were not able to pay our children tuition. They dropped from school. Our house is not in a good condition. During the rainy season it leaks.I was so grateful when GiveDirectly came to my town. I was overwhelmed when I received my transfer. This is an amazing opportunity. I used some of my money to pay my children tuition. I used the rest to buy zinc. Hopefully, when I receive rest of the transfers, I will add up to buy building materials and build my house. I'm so excited for this opportunity. Our lives will never be the same again.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I got the alert, my whole household were jumping up and down with excitement. For the passed months things had not been easy for my family. We were really in need of money to pay our children school fees. Since school reopened my six children have not been registered for school because of the lack of money. However, with the transfer, I was able to pay my children school fees.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly is that I now wake up every morning and see my kids preparing to go to school. I was able to pay their school fees and start building a bigger house for my children. Before receiving payment from GiveDirectly, things had not been easy for my family and I. My husband is a farmer and only plant sugar cane as our source of income. For the passed months now, we have not been able to grind any cane because of the lock of grinding machine. For this reason, my family was hit very hard with serious hardship. Even to feed our kids was very difficult to do. With this money I have gotten all our kids in school and start building a new and bigger house that will accommodate all of my family members. This bring me great Joy everyday.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
GiveDirectly cash transfer has really improve my life. I use some of my transfer to register all our kids in school and get them all their school materials. They are now ready to start school next week. I also bought a bundle of zinc to start building a big house that will be able to host my children and myself. I used some of my transfers to buy food for my kids and saved the remaining money for my maternity care, because I am due to put to birth anytime from soon.
