How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before GD transfers, I did not have a lot to present especially livestock and Household items. Secondly I used to solely depend on casual labor to cater for my family and this did not allow me concentrate on my gardens leading to increased famine. My life is different now because I started a small scale trading business which generates daily income that sustains the well being of my household. I also managed to acquire livestock which will reproduce and multiply in future. These livestock will avail us with milk which we can either sell or consume. Lastly I managed to buy household items which we lacked as a household previously.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GD has uplifted my standards of living. Furthermore, I like GD's approach of transferring cash directly to recipients which has helped curb down corruption and bribes. There's nothing wrong that GD did in my community.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought a cow, paid school fees, feeding and purchased household items.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am a stress free person because I will have an independent life from my entire family (in laws) when I complete buying my plot of land. Before, I used to even get sick due to stress. This is because we have small space to settle in and there are very many unending wrangles.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer, I felt so happy that I was going to fulfill my dream of getting my personal land.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I plan to spend my entire first transfer Ugx 1700000 to buy a plot of land.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will buy a plot of land where we shall build a house and relocate because where we are currently is not good for settlement. We shall reserve this land for agriculture because the soils are fertile and this will also boost our household income in a way that; we shall sell the yields from agriculture.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon because it is usually the time I eat one of the good meals of the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is illness among children. We have a child who is epileptic and the other has polio of which its not easy to take care of them because even the resources are limited.
