How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
So much has changed since I received money from GD. I had built a house but it was not yet finished. When I received my transfer, I bought all materials needed to finish my house. My house is looking very nice such that people admire it. I have also managed to buy some bags of fertilizer. I am confident that I will be able to produce more food this year because of the fertilizer I bought using the transfer. Because of the transfer, I have managed to buy beddings such as Mattress and blackects. I have also saved part of my transfer to support my day to day needs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GD is doing very well in giving out money to rural communities. I didn't have a phone and because of GD, I received a phone.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have managed to do more with the transfer than I could have done on my own. I managed to buy 15 bags of cement. My main focus was to improve my house so I used the transfer to replace the flow of my house and plastered the walls. I also bought paint and applied on my house. My house is looking very nice. I also bought Mattress which costed MK 50 000 and 6 chairs.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very happy to be in this program. Only God knows how happy I am that I will receive this money. I am very grateful to GiveDirectly for giving me a chance and approaching me so that I can benefit from their program.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am mostly unhappy due to some of the challenges that I face in my daily life. I become happy when I am sure that my house has enough food for that particular day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face in my life is Lack od food. I will use some of the money to buy fertiliser so that I can harvest enough maize next year. Hopefully I will harvest enough food for my household.
