Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy when I received this. My children school fees and to build a new house for myself have been my dreams since, but I didn't have the means of fulfilling them at this time. Now that I have received this money, I'm going to work towards them.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I'm feeling much relaxed now because my children wouldn't have been in school if I had not received this money from GiveDirectly. This is one of the happiest moments of my life. Seeing my children going to school everyday without problems.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent all of my money on my five children school fees for the first semester and I'm waiting on the second transfer to start my new house projects. I'm grateful to GiveDirectly for level of supports given to my family and I.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that my three children who have never been to school will finally have an opportunity to attain education. I do not have a reliable source of income and because of this I have not been able to educate my children. They have never had the opportunity to enter a classroom. I feel very excited about receiving this cash transfer because if I receive it I will use it to educate my children. I strongly believe that if they are educated they will be able to secure better job opportunities which will help them to support the family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Waking up healthy in the morning is what has brought me joy and happiness in the last six months. Four months ago I had to undergo a cesarean section; I survived but my baby did not come out alive. Though I felt bad about the situation but I also was grateful that both our lives were not lost during the process. I have not fallen ill since the procedure which makes me very happy everyday when I wake up.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The greatest challenge that I am currently facing is unreliable source of income. My spouse and I are currently unemployed and what we produce from our farm is not enough to feed us. For the past six years we have not been able to meet the basic needs of our family which cause us to sometimes go to bed with little or no food. I feel very bad when my kids do not have enough to eat or go to bed hungry.
