How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I bought an ox and paid school fees for my children. In the past, my children used to miss out on termly exams since I couldn't raise money for paying their fees on time. And we ploughed our farm land on borrowed oxen but I'm very grateful to GD for enabling me own one.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me the financial support. There is completely nothing bad that it has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer for paying my children's school fees, buying households and an ox. I still a balance that I will use for paying next term's tuition.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is being able to provide for my family with the basic needs such as education and food that they need. This alone gives me a big grinning smile.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Since my transfer came through at the time my children were sent home for fees, at that moment, I felt so happy that I was to send my children to school immediately and they were not going to do casual labor to raise their fee. They were not going staying home for long.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer Ugx 500000 on paying up fees for my children. I used Ugx 200000 to buy some household items such as a mattress, and utensils. I am saving up Ugx 1000000 that I will add up with my second transfer to build.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will pay for our children's school because they are in private schools. We decided to take them to private schools because they teach well though its expensive in terms of payment. So this money will help relieve that burden partly. I will also start a cattle selling business to sustain the family's basic needs like Education, proper feeding, medical care and other necessities.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon because its the time I always get to be together with other family members sharing a meal.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is lack of sufficient money to take care of the family's needs like Education, medical care, feeding and others.
