How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different because of the happiness I feel having paid up fees for all my children and not having any debts. Prior to getting this transfer, my children would end up being home since I depended on farming to educate them. Now my crops can survive being sold off instantly and I know that I have where to start from next time.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by enrolling me in their program and later being one of the beneficiaries. On the other hand, there is nothing bad that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer Ugx 1000000 pay up my three children school fees who are in college (two) and secondary two (one). I then used Ugx 400000 to buy a female calf. I bought a bicycle at Ugx 200000.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have paid off the debt which has enabled me recover my piece of land that the money lender had taken. Secondly, I have paid school fees for my children in time that has made me very happy. Previously, I didn't have hope of settling the debt because the money I got from agricultural produce was spent on paying school fees for my children.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I was over whelmed by joy because I had got money that will enable me pay off the debt that I had.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to pay off a debt at UGX 1,000,000 and UGX 700,000 paid school fees for my 3 secondary going children.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means taking back my chidren to acquire a better education. I have ten children and put it the ten, I failed to pay school fees for three who are still at home due to lack of school fees. I struggle to pay their fees with the proceeds I get through the sale of farm produce which some times fails due to drought and floods which come intermittently to affect it hence low yields.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is after eating lunch. I get energy that will enable me to do some household chores like washing clothes and some times getting back to do garden work. Thatbis usually when I have sent my children to school ans I am at home with those that are day scholars.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face in my life is lack of enough income in order to educate my children. That has affected me because there of them have dropped ok I school due to the same and has given me stress.
