How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before receiving my recent transfer, I never thought about plastering my house. My planned had been to built a new house that is why I used my previous transfer to buy two bundles of zinc for the new project. However, with my recent transfer my new goal is to plaster my present house now that the raining season is here that whenever it rains the water washes away most of the mud from on the building. Therefore, I used a portion recent transfer and bought the first ten bags of cement. Additionally, I used a portion of my transfer and bought loads of sand. Finally, the remaining money will be spend as workmanship.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has been doing well from the beginning of this program until now they have shown a great level of professionalism and transparency in reaching out to us the needy. I am very excited and grateful to be one of the beneficiaries of this unique program. Their farsightedness towards the needy is so much remarkable. In my honest judgement, GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I make cassava farm every year to take care of my family's needs. It is through the cassava that I sustain me and my family.I was on one of my cassava patches when my phone message notification alarm. I quickly went to looked at it to see what it was. It was when I realised that it was GiveDirectly cash transfer program message from Lonestar MTN. I was so much happy. I hurriedly went home to my family with happiness to let them know that our transfer from Givedirectly has come. They were all happy when I told them because my family and I have been through a of difficulties because of poverty.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was suffering when I was enrolled on this program. My daughter father left me when my daughter was 7 yeas old. Since then, life have been very difficult for me and my family. Receiving this money from Givedirectly has brought lot of changes and happiness in my life. Through the transfer from Givedirectly, I am now able to send my daughter back to school for a better future. The remaining portion of it, I have used it to buy zinc for the construction of my house. The difference in my life now is that I am so much happy for this great opportunity which have taken me out of poverty. Thanks to God Almighty for GiveDirectly. I am so grateful for this.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Due to my conditions in life, I have not been able to build myself a house for my family and I to stay. I am staying in my little cousin's house along with my family. The house is too small for everyone of us comfort but we have to stay there because I have no where to take my family. When I receive my first transfer from GiveDirectly, I divided it into two potions. The first portion is used for zinc because I want to build a decent house that will accommodate my family and I in the future. The remaining portion of the transfer, I used it to pay for my daughter's education because I need her to have a quality education for better jobs opportunities in the future.

What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, it was on my birthday ( December 5,2022) I was very happy. The thing that brought joy to me was, God making me to see that day with all of the suffering I am going through.
