Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so much happy the moment I received money from GiveDirectly. Never before had I received such an amount of money in my entire life; at least not that which is non refundable. For sometime I lost sleep as I thought of how the money was going to change my life al together. The happiness in me was too much that at one point I even grew anxious. I however composed myself and reorganised my thoughts on how well I was going to spend the money. I feel so much indebted to GiveDirectly for this support and looking forward to completing my CPA studies and possibly get a job that will change my life for good.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the advancement in education on my side. I never thought that I would accumulate enough money from my odd casual jobs that would allow me pursue my studies further. Receiving this money has seen me clear my secondary school fees arrears and be able to pursue my dream course of CPA. This will enable me keep an edge with other graduates in my field of Cooperative management-Accounts and be able to get a job that will change my life all together.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used part of my transfer to clear school fees at a local school that I studied in and enrolled for a CPA program. For a long time I had had this desire of getting my certificate from school and advancing my education by enrolling for Certified Public Accounting course. This was however not to be since the little income that I received from my casual work at a local cyber was just enough to put food on the table for me and maybe at times buy clothes. I continued doing my casual work hoping against hope that one day I would be able to accumulate enough money and be able to pursue my dream course. Despite the fact that I already had my first degree, my efforts of trying to get a new job had bore no fruits. The market was so competitive and I knew that the only way to keep an edge was through taking an additional course. On receiving this money from GiveDirectly, I decided to clear the outstanding fee arrears and paid fully for CPA section 1 and 2. I am now looking forward to completing this short course as I remain optimistic that one day I will be able to get a job and change the living standards of my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will help me start a small business of selling shoes and other trendy fashions and clothes designs. I plan on investing 500 USD on this. Lack of employment has been a challenge to me. That is why I have resorted to business as a source of income .My target customers are the youths like myself. I will open a stall at the nearby shopping center.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I work at a cyber cafe in the nearest shopping centre. I arrive at work at around 10am and work till late in the evening. I enjoy the evening hours when I am out of work since it is usually my time to relax after a busy day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Its one year now since I completed my undergraduate studies and I have not secured employment. I have attended several interviews but to no avail. When I completed my studies I could no longer get support from my parents. I had to move out .Living independently has not been easy given that I was fresh from college. I had to crush at a friend's place whom I helped him out in his cyber cafe business in order to get money.
