Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
On this particular day, i was in the fields trying to find food for my family. Due to the extreme weather conditions, the cyclone Anna flooded my field and i had to replant something for my family to eat. On this day, my phone rang, it was a message from Give Directly, they had sent money worthy Mk120,000. My heart was filled with joy! I was so happy and grateful. I ran to my wife and showed her the message. There was hope in our hearts!
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since i received the transfer is that, i am able to feed my family. Am also able to provide a safe place for my family to stay in. I am grateful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received the transfer, i bought trees to roof my house. My house was completely shattered after the cyclones hit our village. I also bought 3bags of maize and my family is now eating despite the fact that the cyclones destroyed our field. I also bought goats.
