How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
We strive to achieve food security in our HH yearly, for we believe that if we have food we can be able to work and be productive, since we are energised, and achieve all our dreams.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
We found the GD measures and criterias conducive and easy to comprehend without any challenges.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
We've bought 10 bags of cement, at $12.5 each, for our house's floor so that we live in a comfortable place. Thereafter, we went on to buy 3 bags of maize, at $35 each, for food security in our HH. We've saved the remaining amount so that we utilize it in improving our house when the rainy season is over.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
When i receive this, i will buy a big battery for maximum capacity for the charging as video show business especially now that it's rainy season. I will also buy a new bicycle for easy movement and at least 3 bags of maize. I also want to own livestock so I will buy cattle, goats and some chickens.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What gives my life meaning is helping others. This can be family or anyone in the village and especially in terms of education. When they progress and so do well in school I feel proud that one day they will also be a helping hand to someone in need.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Because of the current economic challenges, I am failing to attain some things I have always desired. I want to grow my business by buying a bigger battery so that I can service a lot more people since I have become reliable in the village. I recharge phones and run a video show. I also work as a Health Surveillance Assistant (HSA) and travel around the village on a bicycle. It's old and often needs repairs. Food is a problem in that I'm limited to what is available and go long distances to find something different.
