How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Our initial transfer was used to improve our living condition. My wife bought house materials including mattress, food and agricultural seeds as well as paid our children tuition. Our new goal is to start a new business and improve our farming activities so that when Givedirectly program is over, we will sustain our family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Givedirectly does well with the cash transfer program. We of us have live in this town since the war ended, but to see organisation as good as Givedirectly has been difficult. Almost everyone in this town received money and we are gradually improving our lives for better. Thank God for Givedirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My most recent transfer was used to set up a small business and improved our farming activities. We bought zinc and now planing to start a new construction which is to be cintinue upon receiving our next transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
With this cash, I plan to build a house for myself, educate my children and do a business. Presently, where I stay is not for me and I have lived here for a very long time now. I think it will be a good time for me to build a place of my own to live in and raise my children. Another thing I will intend to do with the money is to sending my children to school. I face a serious challenge to pay my children's school fees and this money will really help. I want them to be educated so that they can take good care of me in the future when I am old. Lastly, I will use the balance to start a business. I used to sell for someone so I have the experience to do a business for myself. I believe that that business will help me to keep having money to sponsor my children and take care of my family from the profit.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, what brought me joy and happiness was when I saw my children in their school's uniform. This means a lot to me because my hard work has paid off and I can afford to pay my children's school fees. Seeing them playing with their friends while in school makes me very glad.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
One major challenge that I am currently facing and will still face is the issue of paying my children's school fees. Every year, when school is about to reopen, I worry a lot. Because of this, I will have to do hard labor contracts to get money to keep my children in school. My children's education mean a lot to me and this is the main challenge I face now - paying their school fees.
