Receiving this money means change in life for my family of four. For the longest time ,we have been living in fear of floods especially when it rains as we get displaced. The money we shall receive will enable us initiate the process of buying land in a safe place and build a iron roofed house. I am happy because the assistance has come at a time that we need it most. My family will get a roof over our heads that is comfortable and will no longer have to worry about floods.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The rains has been a blessing in disguise because despite the displacement , the half acre maize plantation is doing relatively well. From that I project on harvesting enough food for my family and also sell the surplus.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
A month ago, I was displaced by floods and I lost everything that I had and we were forced to seek refuge at a shopping center. Life has never been the same again as we are starting afresh. We sleep on the floor and my children have been sickly since then. I am hopeful that I can be able to resettle back to my previous way of living when the rains subside completely.
