Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Prior to receiving the cash transfers, we had limited agricultural land. More so, we had an outstanding debt that was overburdening us.
Nevertheless, when we received the cash transfer, we felt relieved because this enabled us pay off that debt. In addition to this, we hired a piece of farm land. We shall cultivate more food crops that will sustain the family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The mobile money message was sent early in the morning. My spouse woke me up and conveyed the good news to me. At that moment, I felt very happy. We made plans on how to spend the cash transfer.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the first cash transfer to hire a piece of farm land worth UGX700000. I paid a debt worth UGX500000. I spent UGX300000 to treat my child. I spent the balance to purchase a mattress worth UGX 78000 and the rest was spent on buying food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be in position to buy land. I currently own one garden for both homestead and crop farming. This is not productive atall, so I realise very little harvests which does not support the needs of my family members. Once I buy more land , my family will be cultivating crops hence increase in production. These produce I will be selling some for educating my Children in future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My favourite part of the day is afternoon hours. Iam able to chat with my children about their studies after returning from school. They tell what they learnt and this gives me encouragment.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of farm land. Iam therefore producing very little from the current land and it does not support my family's requirements. There is shortage of food also at home , hence my children are sickly due to poor feeding.
