How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I am happy to see my house plastered to give a good outlook and this makes me proud. Secondly, I have re-claimed cultivation land used as security for money borrowed earlier, giving me more room to grow more food crops. Before, I was limited in my cultivation and wasn't proud how my house looked, so open without doors and bricks unplastered.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well giving us money that has enabled people to build iron sheet roofed houses, acquire cultivation land, pay school fees and food. And above all, the money is unconditional in that you spend in your own way. There's nothing it hasn't done well in my opinion.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
My second transfer was spent to buy building materials such as cement and sand which used to plaster my house. Then I bought two doors, paid labour for plastering, and the balance spent on feeding.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means to invest in my children's Education. I only own a single piece of land and yet cultivation is the main source of earning. I always get very little from cultivation to pay my children's school fees. Most of them end up being school drop outs hence has affectted their futures. Givedirectly transfers will enable me pay thier fees in time and they may end up getting better jobs. Therefore my children can be able to easily take care of their needs in future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Normally after engaging in garden work and having a meal. My best hour is afternoon since I take part it for resting. I feel my scure coolling a bit.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I faced is sickness. I was once Operated and my uterus removed. The scure has always prevented me from engaging in to heavy work like digging. This has hindered me from providing basic needs to my children since I depend on farming.
