How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I live in a rented two room grass thatched house. I have been living in this house for over ten years. I have always dreamed of having my own house. One that does not leak like the one I live in now. I have used my transfer to get bricks and other materials for the house. I have also used it to buy myself and my three children some clothes and beddings. We did not have alot of basic necessities and now we do. GD has truly changed our lives for the better. I will finally have my dream house and my children are fed, clothed and happier. Our lives would have remained sad had we not received this transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly has really helped improve our lives. We were unable to afford to build ourselves houses and yet now we can. My dream has been to have a better house. One with iron sheet roof because the grass roofs always leak. And now with the transfers given by GD, I will build the house. GD does very well in giving us money directly so we can decide how to use it ourselves.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have spent my transfer on food, beddings and clothes for my 3 children and I. I have save some of the money and plan to use it to build a house. The house we have now is very old and has cracks. We will build a new iron sheet house.
