I spent my third transfer on buying furniture at a cost of 8500 KES. I bought a few iron sheets that I used to complete building my house. I bought 3 sheep and a bag of maize. I also rented a farm that I have planted maize on and bought a few households.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I managed to complete my house and I'm staying three a room house as compared to the single room I had previously. I now have enough space for my visitors to sleep on thus I don't have to take them to neighbors houses.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Gd does well by giving cash to the needy and letting them decide on what to use it on. This has really helped the poor improve their living standards. I don't see anything bad Gd does.
