How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I have been in position to construct a permanent house that I'm planning to shift immediately after completion. This money has again made me add 2 acres of land which I plan to plant cassava, maize and G nuts that will help me buy school requirements and part will be taken. I will not be buying seeds for planting come next year because I expect increased yields from these two additional acres. I'm currently sleeping in a house that leaks whenever it rains. I have been buying seeds because we do not have enough acres of land to cultivate. Half an acre that we have can't produce food crops to support us even for 3 months. Feeding my family members has been my greatest challenge.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done good to give me money that I used for constructing an iron roofed house and getting two acres of land. GiveDirectly has not done any thing bad to me.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bough 3 trips of brikes at UGX 800,000, timber at UGX 65,000 and paid labour for construction at UGX 310,000. We also purchased a solar system at UGX 140,000, maize plus beans at UGX 79,000 and clothes at UGX 30,000. My husband spent UGX 158,000 that had remained.

The moment I received my first cash transfer, I felt happy because my household had reached its turning point. I am sleeping under a dilapidated grass thatched house but receiving this cash transfer means a new permanent house for my household.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 580,000 for buying iron sheets that I intend to use for building a permanent house. I lent UGX 700,000 to my neighbour in exchange for two acres of land. I bought bedding worth UGX 105,000, Clothes costed UGX 200,000. The balance of UGX 115,000, I spent it on feeding household members.
