How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now in that, These transfers have brought pride to my household because I have managed to resume the completion of my house. GD transfers helped me clear my children's school fees therefore I'm sure that their future I bright. In addition to that, I have managed to dig a pit latrine which I will depend on in future when the old one collapses. Before receiving these transfers, life was so hard in that my children could not upgrade from school because most of them could stop in senior four and drop out since I did not have enough money to cater for their education.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GD has done wonders to me in that GD's transfers helped me acquire construction materials, pay school fees and dig a pit latrine which I could not have handled on my own if it wasn't of transfers. Furthermore, These transfers have brought development to my community because people have built houses, clear land debts, bought motorcycles among other things.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer on purchasing building materials a.g sand, bricks, Windows. I had constructed a house wihich I did not complete due to school fees demands for my children. When I received this money I decided to purchase the said items above in order to complete my house. I used part of the money to excavate a pit latrine because I'm feared that the current pit latrine could collapse since it has no roof. I'm preparing for the future just in case this one collapses I won't have to depend on neighbour's latrines or bush. I have also saved part of this transfer for sending back my children to school next term. On the other side, I did not see anything wrong done by GD because everyone in village is happy with its deeds.
