How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I never thought that I can build a house despite longing to have one for the past years. When GD came, the organisation gave me hope that I can build one. Then I started planning. So to say, GD made me setup a new goal.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GD is doing very well by reaching out to rural communities in giving them money which is enough to change someone's life. Other organizations fail to do this. I am so grateful
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been longing to build a house. I used my transfer to buy materials needed for the house project such as cement, timber and iron sheets. I also used part of the money to buy 7000 bricks. I used the remaining amount of money to buy 3 bags of maize for food processing.

I was super excited when i got the transfer massage, all my life i have never been given such a huge amount of money, this is my first time and i really appreciate everything.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life ever since i received the transfer is i have been peacefully and comfortably sleeping on my 8 inch matress, not only this but also knowing that i have already bought the necessary farm inputs gives me peace of mind. Honestly speaking poverty always frustrate us waking up to no food or shelter is a different kind of frustration that is triggered by lack of income and ever since i got the transfer my mind and heart is at peace and this builds happiness.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With my first transfer i have used it to buy house building materials like ironsheet, bricks, nails and Timba that is mostly used for roofing the house,i bought these things because i would love to build a house come 2022. Also i have been struggling with getting a decent sleeping place ,i was trying to buy clean beddings plus a matress since last year but i didn't get my self to save much money that can carter for all these things ,but because of GiveDirectly i have managed to buy a matress,in additional i have also bought two bags of fertiliser that i will use this year.
