How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I actually do not have any new goal after recieving this transfer. It is still the old one I working to achieve. The roof of this house you are seeing has so many leakages especially during the rainy season. My children and I do not sleeping during the rainy season at night. Before GiveDirectly came in my community, I asked some men to help cut thatch for me so that the old ones can be replaced. Fortunately for me that same week GiveDirectly entered into this community with this program. Instead of living under a thatch house and continue cutting thatch, I decided to build a new house with zinc roof. The first transfer and this was used to buy building materials that will be used to erect the new house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Other NGOs been coming to the other commitments you passed before reaching here but have not been able to reach ours community. GiveDirectly did well by taking the challenge to pass through the forest to us just to change our lives. In addition GiveDirectly does not discriminate. All households are treating equally during the enrollment process. In my opinion GiveDirectly has done nothing wrong since it started work in this town.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Like I said from the beginning my goal is to build a new house. Through my first transfer I was able to buy two bundles of zinc and a cartoon of wire nails. With the most recent transfer, I was able to buy one additional bundle of zinc, hired a sawyer to saw planks for the roofing and furniture works on the house. I was also able to buy zinc nails and food items from the most recent transfer. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for this life changing opportunity.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was at home when I heard my neighbors rejoicing about their payments from GiveDirectly. I right away left and went to the place we usually get connected to the network to if my has been sent. To my surprise, as soon as I reached to the place I received a message notification on my phone. When I checked it was the mobile money message from GiveDirectly. I began to dance and went to the house to tell my husband the good news. That afternoon, my husband got ready and went to cash out the money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started recieving payments from GiveDirectly is that, I am now able to buy zinc that I will use on the roof of my house instead of thatches. I have enough food in my house for my family since the transfer came. My children and I no longer sleep on empty stomach.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
As seeing, my house is in a deplorable condition. The roof can not hold the rain waters again. Therefore, portion of my most recent transfer was spent on my children's education and portion on the purchase of two bundles of zinc. Portion was also used to buy nail packs and the balance was used to buy rice.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Since I build this thatched house, it has been so many years now and it leaks on me and my children during rainy seasons so when I received this money, I will prefer building a new house that will be roof with zinc so that we can sleep comfortably during rainy seasons.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Since the last six months, it has been raining heavily in our community and our roof been leaking on us but by God's grace, none of us got sick to be taken to hospital so we felt happy when dry season came.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
With leakage of our thatched house during rainy seasons on me and my children, I and my husband has been wanting to build new house in order to get away with the sleepless nights whenever rain falls but we haven't been able to so it's our greatest challenge.
