How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The only thing on my mind now is to move into my house. Givedirectly has bought so much progress in my life. I might use my last transfer to open a business in Buchanan. I will be moving to Buchanan to study very soon. My dreams have started coming to reality.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From the beginning of the program up to the present, Givedirectly has been good. My family's lives have changed through the cash transfer program. I now own a zinc house and my family is happy. In this light, I will tell Givedirectly thanks for helping me and making to be a better man.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my money to purchase a brand new motorcycle. Portions of it were used to buy my remaining materials for the completion of my project.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The new goals I have set before receiving this transfer are to paid casual laborers to start building my new house and add partition as shop where I will sell food stuffs in the future. In our village, there is no food stuffs seller therefore, people travel far distances to purchase them during market day from a bigger town. Thanks to Givedirectly for empowering me financially. I believe that when I start to sell food stuffs in this village, I will get more customers who will enable me get more profits.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Givedirectly has really empowered families financially. Through Givedirectly cash transfer to families in this village, Many families are sending their children to schools, while others are using their transfers to build their own houses. Givedirectly is one of the best Organizations in Liberia for now because their implementation is very transparent. Thanks to Givedirectly for the kind gesture. There is no system where Givedirectly needs to improve.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before receiving my second transfer from Givedirectly, My new made is to attach small shop to my new house.I want to start selling dry goods in this Village. People in our village travel far distances to buy dry goods like bathsoaps , creams, washing soaps ,slippers etc. This process involves spending lot money on transportation . I believe that if I start to sell dry goods in this Village, more recipients will not struggle to buy dry goods and I will be able to generate more money to continue my building project.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Givedirectly is really helping poor people in Liberia . Givedirectly is one of the transparent NGos in Liberia. Givedirectly staffs are well trained and do not accept Gifts from community members. Most NGos implementing project in Liberia are not free from corruptions most especially those NGos that linked their activities with government. Thanks to Givedirectly for the direct cash support . I believe that few months from now, my community be one of the beautiful place to live because most recipients are using their transfers wisely. I don't see any area where Givedirectly needs improvement.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my second transfer to buy 2 bundles of 14gage zinc. I am presently cutting sticks to start building my shop. I never had any good mattress in my room . I used part of my transfer to buy 32inches expensive and thick mattress. I am grateful to Givedirectly for the cash support. I believe that with my transfer ,I am going to be a big business owner in this village .

What does receiving this money mean to you?
From 2017 up to present, I have been living in my father's house due to lack of finance to be able to build my own place. As I speak to you, my girlfriend and I are still living in my father's house which is sometimes embarrassing. I don't feel comfortable for my father and I to be living in the same house. Certain activities pertaining to my girlfriend and I are restricted based on the fact that we are still under my parents roof. If I am fully eligible for GiveDirectly cash transfer program, I intend to use the money to build my own house for my spouse and I to move in. Besides, I also intend to start a business by opening a mini shop on the house I will build.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have struggled to raise money for my family and I to survive which continues to serve as serious impediment for me. As a results, when I heard that my sister had given birth safely without an operation, I felt so happy. If anything like operation was going to be involved, I would have been the one to shoulder the responsibility. And the fact that she gave birth safe, saves me from financial embarrassment.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have been cutting palm, setting traps and making rice farm for the past 4 years. Doing such a work doesn't earn you much income. I have been doing this for about four (4) years now and I have not realized anything from it. Even up to present, I am still involved with rice farming and palm cutting and setting of traps as well. Finding an alternative solution financially to such a living conditions my girlfriend and I find ourselves in right now is my biggest challenge.
