Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy because i ever had been given a huge amount of money like that. In this area there have been so many humanitarian organisations doing the same cause as GiveDirectly but never had they given us such amount of aid. The transfer from GiveDirectly is more than enough to end our problems, in as far as village life is concerned. Therefore when i received my transfer i was very happy knowing that the money would change my life.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that i will have a good house with iron sheet roof, something i would not manage had GiveDirectly not come. In addition to that i have enough food which will take me through end of the year and all other things i wanted such as blankets and matress
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfer on 3500 bricks for building a new house at MK95000, 18 iron sheets at MK7000 each, matress at MK52000, 3 blankets at MK55000, and 4 bags of maize at MK9000 and saved some amount

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very excited to receive this money and i believe my dream of having an iron sheets roofed house will now be a reality. I have been living in this house for 6 years now and i have to roof with grass every year which is very tiresome. Besides that, sometimes it leaks during rainy season. I now have hope that i will not have the same problems starting from the coming rainy season
What is the happiest part of your day?
I do not have a specific time which i would say it's the happiest part of my day because it varies from day to day depending on the situation. Some of the days i am the happiest in the afternoon because that is the time i usually have my first meal of the day and sometimes i am the happiest in the evening because that is the time i am free and able to rest
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have 7 children and all of them are still young and they depend on me to provide food for them which a big a challenge for me as i do not have a job or any business which can provide me with money. Their father left me for another woman last year and i struggle so much to feed these children
