How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The difference in my life is that I am able to pay school fee for my children with ease I no longer sell alcohol as used to do before in order for me to pay their fee. I am also sleeping very comfortably i do not wake up during the night as I used to do before. I am also getting milk from my dairy cow for my consumption I do not spend money to buy milk from my neighbors and at the same time I am the one who is now selling milk to my neighbors and getting money for my up keep.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly did very well by supporting the most need people in the village without any corruption. It is the organisation that was true to it's word because they did as they promised us, compared to other NGOS that has been promising us things and they do not implement.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I was going through tough time to pay school for my children in that I decided to start business of selling alcohol in order for me to get money to pay their fee. It was the worst business because I did not have peace with the police I was being a rested every now and then but i did not have otherwise . So when I got the money I spent most of it to pay school fee arrears for my two daughters who were in secondary school and that is where I stopped the business of selling alcohol and started vegetable business because had now reduced the burden and I knew I was going to manage with the vegetable business. I also spent the money to buy dairy cow as my future investment fortunately the cow has producing milk for my consumption. I was tired of buying milk from my neighbors being that it was very expensive. The remaining balance I spent to buy mattress being that I had a very thin mattress which was very uncomfortable. I kept on turning during the night because of the uncomfortability. For now I am sleeping very comfortably that I do not always notice when it is already morning.
