How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before the transfers, I used to struggle to pay school fees arrears for my children because I had a low income from construction work. The income is all we depended on to pay school fees, rent, buy food and meet other family expenses. This is the reason why my children would be sent home for fees arrears regularly. I was not able to pay on time. Sometimes when they were sent home, they would stay home for even 2 weeks as I was still looking for the money. This really affected their performance and I had failed as a parent. With GD transfers, they are always in school studying. Since last year, they have never been sent home for fees arrears anymore. They have also improved in their performance which makes me so happy as a parent.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
I still want to focus my transfers in paying school fees for my children. Nothing makes me happy now as a parent when my children go to school and study well in peace without being sent home for fees arrears. This has been my dream and I know I will achieve it through GD transfers.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my transfers in paying school fees for my daughters who are in primary school. I paid the money in advance so that they may not be sent home for arrears when I do not have the money to pay. Paying in advance has really changed my life and they are not sent home as they used to be sent home as before the transfers.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before I became a beneficiary of this project, I had a lot of problems paying for my rent and most times, my landlord would lock me out and threaten to kick me off his premises. I also had a lot of trouble paying school fees for my children who would constantly be sent away from school because the little income I had was very little. With the help of these transfers, I can now comfortably take care of these without any stress.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
I have lived in this city for almost 20years and I have never gone back to my village since then. As I grow older, I get the need to go back due to the pressure that I get from my relatives to go and at least build a house that will also set my younger siblings free to build their own. In my culture, the younger siblings cannot build a house before their elder ones which is why it is important that I do this as soon as possible. I have been trying to make as much savings as I possibly can to enable me to achieve this goal I have had for a while, which is why I do not have any new one at the moment.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am still not very financially stable as I depend on casual construction jobs that are mostly unavailable making it hard for me to meet my household needs. The transfers have been filling the financial gaps I have because whenever I receive them, I am able to clear any bills that accumulated over the month. This month, I used part of the money I received to pay my rent and spent the rest on foodstuff and other household requirements.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently, my life is different from how it was in that I am able to take care of my children's fees with ease. I normally do casual jobs like construction work and getting them is always a hustle. The little that I could get could go towards taking care of everything including paying food and paying school fees. Sometimes, my children used to go to school without food because I could use the money that I got to pay their fees which could not also not enough. I can only thank GiveDirectly for reducing my burden and keeping my children in school.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
I do not have a new goal. I still want to continue focusing on educating my children. I do not want them to drop out of school like myself due to lack of money and this is the main reason as to why I will continue working towards educating them until they reach higher levels where they
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent the whole of my transfer on paying school fees for my three children. Paying school fees has been a burden on my side. My children used to miss class for even a month due to lack of money to pay the fees. Today, they have never missed lessons and I can attest that they have improved so much in terms of performance in class position. I can only thank GiveDirectly for the help that has enabled my children to get a proper education.

Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
My greatest goal as a parent is to see my children reach the highest level of education there is. This is because I never got the chance to attend school and I have the struggle to reach where I am today hence I would not want my children to go through the same struggle like I did. I will do everything within my reach and out of my reach to see them through their education.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
