How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that, I have a dairy cow which I bought using the transfer. My family now have enough milk for use and also I sell some at the shopping center near home. The income I get from the sales of milk helps me to meet other basic household needs and even pay part of the school fees for my children in various school. Before I could do casual jobs in the village and the small I could get was not enough for the basic needs and even to buy a dairy cow. So I used to buy milk of which it was very costly for me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well by giving us money to start projects like dairy farming, horticulture, venturing into small business and also paying school fees for our children. I do not see anything not good GiveDirectly is a blessing to us.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spend your second transfer to buy a dairy cow, sofa seat seats and the rest of the money I used it to buy food for the family. I used it to buy milk and it was so costly for me and we decided with my spouse to spend half of the money to buy a dairy cow to cut the daily cost of buying milk. Currently, we do have enough milk for the family and we sell some to an income to meet other household basic needs.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I am happier than before. This is the biggest difference in my life. I am happy to see the cow and chicken in my compound that are our sources of income that we did not have. Things had been tough for us because each day we just worked for at least a meal and I would have not bought such things as I bought using GD funds. Even buying the maize gave us peace and we have enough food for up to two months. Thank you for the transfer.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was excited and grateful to receive the funds. I am thankful to date. I saw the confirmation message at around 5.30 AM and I could no longer sleep. I decided to wake up and do chores so as to go to withdraw the cash. My husband was also happy and grateful. We both went to the agent to collect the funds.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
We spent the first transfer from GiveDirectly to buy a cow and chicken. The cow will give us milk for sale and consumption. The funds that we will receive will help us with paying school fee for children. The chicken have already given us eggs for sale; we are getting an income to cater for basic needs like toiletries and buying sugar. We also bought maize and clothes for our children because we needed them and the funds were enough to buy a few.

Receiving this money is an exciting opportunity for me.My life is going to get transformed since am going to spend the transfers on starting a poultry unit together with buying a dairy cow.

The happiest part of my day is during lunch hour.The best part this time is resting after completing most of the day's activities.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is the demise of my mother ten years ago.We were still young then and we really needed her,apart from missing motherly love we could not even get basic needs and education,this has greatly affected me since I solely rely on casual labour and meeting my family's needs is getting tough.
