How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it was in that, my financial status has increased. I have added another cow and in our community the more cows the better. It is a show of wealth and respect. I feel great and I can only than GiveDirectly for financial support.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What I love about GiveDirectly is uplifting the living standards of people using the unconditional cash transfer. Most of the people in my village have been able to take care of our current needs and future goals too. This is amazing because we won't go back to the struggles that we use to face before GiveDirectly came to the village.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent a large portion of my transfer on purchasing dairy milk. I have small children who love milk. This was really a struggle since I could overwork my self doing casual jobs just to make sure that I had money to buy milk for them. Having this cow means a lot to me since it is soon giving birth and we will now be getting money and stop buying milk. For now, I am glad that I used the transfer to pay for milk that will be delivered for the whole month. I also bought five sheep. This great idea came about because of the benefits that they have. The pronounced one is the reproduction rate. They reproduce faster and by next year, they will be many hence I will be able to sell some in case of emergencies rather than taking loans. I finally bought foodstuffs.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have assets to depend on in case of a financial crisis. This is because I can easily sell one of the goats and use the money to settle any future financial need. Also, I will be able to reduce my daily expenditure when my dairy cow reproduces since I will not be buying milk anymore. I will be using the money I would otherwise use in buying milk to meet some of our needs. Also, I will be having an income from milk sales. I will be using this income to pay for my children's education and to meet some of our needs.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I realized that GiveDirectly had sent me the promised money in the morning after waking up as I was going through my phone. I became so happy and I prayed to thank God for the blessings and to give us wisdom when planning on how to spend it.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I received my first transfer, I took part of it to buy a dairy cow. I settled on this so that when it reproduces, I will be able to save the money I would otherwise use in buying milk. Also, I bought five goats for rearing and when they will have reproduced and increase in number, I will sell some and use the money to buy another dairy cow. From the remaining amount, I bought some building materials to use in building a spacious house for my family and also paid a mason for this work. I settled on this so that I can have a house to call my own since I have been living in a house that belonged to my inlaws. I used the remaining amount to buy some foodstuffs for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Livestock, especially sheep and goats play an important role in the welfare of most people in my community. My husband and I are planning to invest our transfer in purchasing 20 herds of sheep for keeping. Our ambition is that in the next one year they would have multiplied enough for sale to fetch us enough money to buy a bigger piece of land. This is what receiving this money mean to me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I recently gave birth and only get assigned to do light duties and spend most of my time to rest. The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon till evening. This is my time to rest after doing a few domestic chores in the house like washing dishes and doing laundry.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am a hard working person with a raft of ambitions, especially agribusiness. Land ownership play a massive role as source of financial capital for sustainable development. However, the lack of it almost impedes a person's potential and ambitions. As classical example, my father in law has denied all his sons their share of inheritance and authority over his land. For a long time, my worry has been the lack of freedom to unlock my potential and lack of privacy due to congested housing, which constantly jeopardizes my stay in this household. This is the biggest hardship I've faced in my life.
