How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Before the transfers, I did not have any source of income and this my vision of having a house look impossible. We would depend on well-wishers for survival. Since GD came to my life, currently my life is different. I started by saving these transfers to buy building materials. This has enabled me to build a decent house of my preference which accommodates my family and my visitors as well. I am thankful for GiveDirectly's transfers that have enabled me to disapprove of most of my villagers who used to look down upon me.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to save. I would wish to start a small business with these savings to help increase our income. Currently, the family relies on my spouse meaning the finances are not enough having one source of income.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Before I did not have any source of income, I was not able to put up a house of my preference. The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I am glad because we have an independent life from my extended family most especially my in-laws. These transfers have come in handy in terms of building a decent spacious house of my own preference. Nowadays, I am no longer a laughing stack in my village since I fit in their status quo having this new house.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I intend to start a small business to help improve my income. With the business up and running, I will be able to comfortably meet my family's needs. Honestly speaking, my spouse is the primary earner and it hurt when I see him strain to provide because one source of income has never been enough.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different as compared to how it was four months ago. This has been brought about by adequate space in the new house. My children are so happy and enjoying the house. They have their own room where they can do their own stuff without disruptions. This was never the case before, we were living in a smaller house with a single room this meant that they had to spend in the living room and their privacy was compromised.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I am planning to put up a kiosk. This will help meet the daily household expenses as well as generate income.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I have been able to complete the construction of a bigger and better house for my family. Initially, we used to live in a smaller house that could not comfortably accommodate my now big family. This forced us to squeeze and you could tell my children being teenagers were not happy about the whole situation. So circumstances forced us to upgrade and as we speak the space and privacy is beautiful.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months now that I have built my house, I am hopeful that I will have the kiosk up running this will help with extra income to run the family and meet several other expenses.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from the way it was four months ago in that I have been able to save enough money and bought a cow to replace the cow that died. This makes me feel so happy and independent. Aside from that, I have already saved some cash that I'm planning to use to purchase building materials that we'll require while we'll be building our home. As a woman, I feel so happy and my spouse is proud of me too for the move.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
For the next four months, I have an additional goal of saving enough money to purchase a steel door that we'll use while constructing our home towards the end of the year.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfers is the feeling of independence. This is because I was able to save the previous transfers and bought a cow after the cows we had died. I feel so happy knowing that I do not rely on my spouse for everything.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the six months, I expect to have bought two steel windows and a steel door so that by the time we'll be building our home towards the end of the year we'll have enough materials required.

my life is currently different than it would have been without the transfer in that I have been able to have some savings in my Mshwari account, something I could not do before as what I generated was just enough to feed the family.
