How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
"My life is different in that I have been able to purchase two cows that I believe are going to reproduce in the near future and this will help me to pay the bride price for my wife and be a source of livelihood for my family."
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
"Give directly has done well in giving people in my community the cash transfers that have elevated the living standards of many. There is totally nothing that GD has done bad."
What did you spend your second transfer on?
"I spent my second transfer for buying two cows at 890,000ugx, clothes for the whole family at 200,000ugx and hired an acre of land at 100,000ugx for cultivating food crops. I have also invested 50,000ugx as a start up capital for my tomato business and repaired a bicycle at 50,000ugx that is currently helping me to carry my tomatoes from the suppliers and to my shop. The remaining balance is saved for cultivating crops in the next season."

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for buying a cow at 400,000Ugx, a bull at 350,000Ugx, and the rest of the money I haven't spent but am planning to spend on farming, buying clothings and food for the family member.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I recieved my first transfer I was very happy and speechless for a while.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily is that I have peace of mind because this transfer has enabled me to buy cows to give my in-laws as dowery and now I can buy some food for the family.

The biggest hardship i am faced with is lack of money to cater for family needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when i am listening to news over the radio.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means i Will be able to buy a piece of land, buy livestock, merry a wife and then finally invest in farming.
