What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used 13,000 KES to buy chairs because I had some old chairs which were outdated. Paid my daughter in high school fee summing to 10,000 KES. I bought a cow which I believe will provide my family with free milk in the near future. I also spent the rest of the transfer on other household items.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I'm now living in a better house which doesn't leak. I've been living in a leaking house for so long due to financial constraint which detered me from establishing a better one.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What GD does well is that it elevate the livelihood of the poor. I have no observation on what GD doesn't do well.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer on building a new house. I lived in a very old house which was almost collapsing with leaking roof but could not afford to build on my own for so many years.
I am very happy because I will no longer be affected with rains this time round.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is having moved from my old leaking house which was worrying me. I am very peaceful and comfortable in my new house. Thanks to GD for changing my life.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to pay school fees for my daughter who is in secondary school. The remaining transfers will be used to buy some livestock which I can later sell in order to enroll her in a college or university.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having bought a cow, I managed to achieve this by saving money that I was paid for doing some casual jobs in various farms.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to pay fees for my daughter who is supposed to join a college or a university. If I am unable to raise the required fees she may have to defer her studies.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am relaxing after finishing all my chores. I usually relax with my family and friends as we chat and share our experiences of the day and what to expect on the next day.
