Before the coming of GiveDirectly in my life, I used to seek shelter from my relatives and neighbors. This is because I did nit has money to buy the required materials to construct one. Therefore, I was forced to sleep at people's houses each and every day with my family. My life is now different because I am sleeping in a semi-permanent house with my family.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly did everything so perfectly that everyone was satisfied. This is because it brought peace and unity in most of the families. The couple who had parted ways because of some household conflicts had to rejoin because of this organization. GiveDirectly uPlifted our stand of living in that most of us own have some permanent houses, livestock such as dairy cows, oxen, and goats. Everything in my village has changed courtesy of GiveDirecly. I do not see any sector GD failed us.

I spent part of the second transfer on buying a pair of oxen and an ox plough at a total of KES 29000. I also bought some new clothes for my children and I. previously we used to where to wear some old rugs which were so embarrassing at a time especially when there is an event. The remaining amount of money, I am using the remaining amount of money in buying some enough foodstuffs for my family.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that ever since I received my first transfer, fulfilling my household basic needs like buying daily foodstuffs has never been a problem unlike before when we couldn't afford, which at times forced us to stay without food. In addition, I also own a cow which I purchased through this transfer. I am expecting it to reproduce. I will be getting milk for my family consumption and I can sell the surplus to earn some cash.

I heard my neighbours shouting joyfully early in the morning. After I enquired from them, I was told of the good news that GiveDirectly had finally sent the money that they had promised us. Because I couldn't comprehend the contents of the messages in my phone, I called my helper who later confirmed to me that indeed I had received my transfer. I was instantly filled with happiness and I celebrated with my family for the financial support.

I spent KES 19000 of my first transfer to purchase a cow. It has been my desire to own livestock because to me, having livestock means a saving for the future since once they reproduce and increase in number, I can sell the offsprings to help me curb future financial needs. In addition, I will also be benefiting from the milk that this cow will be producing. I also took a portion of the money to pay for my children's school fees in advance. I am happy that they will now continue with their studies without interruptions concerning school fees. Lastly, I spent the transfer on doing a shopping for my family on daily provision of foodstuffs and other basic necessities as well as paying for some other household expenses.
