How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new goal I have set before receiving this transfer is to purchase additional goods for my existing business . I am strong at making business but due to low income, I never had much money to enlarging my business . Now that I am a recipient of Givedirectly transfer, I will expend my business immediately. Thanks to Givedirectly for empowering me financially. I believe that with my transfer from Givedirectly , I will become a big business woman in this Village.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What Givedirectly is doing well for us in this Community is empowering people financially without any segregations. Many people never had plan of building their own house but through receiving cash from Givedirectly, they are now targeting building houses. Others had plan in place but couldnot attempt the process of building because of lack of money.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spend my most recent transfer to pay school fees for my three children . I am someone who knows the importance of education . I have been challenged with paying my children school fee this academic year because my rice farm did not produce much this year. Thanks to Givedirectly for the unexpected and timely surprise. I believe that with my transfer from Givedirectly, my children will not be sent out of classes for tuitions payment this year.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
While I was on the farm working (hoeing grass), my brother called from the house in Gblor Seo town and told me that I have received mobile money from GiveDirectly. With great excitement, I immediately fell to the ground and started rolling. After some time, I happily ran home (Gblor Seo) town to meet my brother. With this cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I knew I could settle most of the hard time I am going through. My husband left me with four (4) children in Gblor Seo town, Norwein District. He went to Grand Gedeh County and got married to another woman. When I heard the news, I thought my live was over. Meanwhile, as a single parent sending four(4) of my children to school, living in family house, and also providing daily bread for my household, all these has been very tough to accomplish until God used GiveDirectly to turn my family situation around. In doing so, I am able to pay my children's school fees and gather enough food for my household. I am also able to buy zinc and roof my house. Through GiveDirectly's mobile money transfer, I am able to achieve all these without having to work on the farm all day (6am to 6pm) just to make ends meet. I say a big thank you to GiveDirectly and I am so happy about this unique opportunity.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Financially, it has been very though since my husband left me with our four children in Gblor Seo Town and went to Grand Gedeh to get married to another woman. I had to wake up early in the morning to go to the farm and work all day just to make ends meet. But with the money transfer I've received from GiveDirectly, I am able to pay my children's school fees and gather enough food for my household. I am also able to buy zinc and roof my house. Through GiveDirectly's mobile money transfer, I am able to achieve all these without having to work on the farm all day (6am to 6pm) just to make ends meet. I say a big thank you to GiveDirectly and I am so glad to be part this unique opportunity that has changed my life for good.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Firstly, when I received my mobile money transfer, I bought building materials (zinc & nails) to roof my house. Secondly, I used portion of the money to register my four children in school and thirdly, I bought enough food for me and my four(4) children. Without GiveDirectly cash transfer, I could still be working all day in the farm and wouldn't have been able to achieve all of the above (buying zinc and nails for my house; registering my children in school; and purchasing enough food for my household. GiveDirectly is indeed a blessing to me and my family.
