What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on admitting my son in form one (secondary school), bought iron sheets and built a bigger house with the rest of the money. I bought my son all the required books, uniforms and paid his school fees. I am looking foward for his hard work and good future.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that I have managed to take my child to secondary school. His education could have stopped after primary school if I never received the transfers. I am very grateful for the impact GD has brought to my household.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is very reliable and sends money in lumpsum that one can spend at once to make a big difference. I love the idea of giving unconditionally. They should continue with this programme in my village for a longer period of time.

I spent my second transfer on buying 30 iron sheets for a new house I am yet to build because the current one is smaller. I spent the remaining money to take my child who had passed well to secondary school, I paid his school fees and shopped for school uniforms among other items.

The biggest difference in my daily life is having had the financial ability to take my child to school because without the transfer would't have managed.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Firstly, we would like to use part of the transfer to build a bigger house because this one is small, and also to build a kitchen, where we would prepare food. Secondly, we intend to use another part of the transfer to pay school fees for our son, who is in a secondary school in form one. Lastly, we plan to use the remaining amount to pay for ploughing expenses for our farms.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement we are very proud of is that, despite the challenges we have faced, we have still managed to enrol our son in a secondary school.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we have faced is providing food for our family, due to insufficient source of income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening, when I am relaxing at home after the day's activities, as my children prepare supper.
