Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When the transfers were coming in, i was on my sick bed due to my burn injuries. I was very happy and thankful that indeed the money came.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The money has truly helped me because i was able to afford medication and this is something that my husband and myself could have struggled to afford. I am very happy as well that soon we will have a house which is properly finished.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I live with my husband and grandchildren. Both my husband and myself are elderly and after i was enrolled in the programme i got burnt with hot water. When i recieved the money, part of the money has been used to buy medicine and other things needed for the injuries. My husband wants us to fix our house by plastering the house and painting. We want to do so that we leave our grandchildren a house that is complete.
