Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to start a fruit blending business in my neighborhood. I live in a place where there's a high demand for fruits and fresh juice but the nearest place to get it is quite some distance away. My fellow students will be a big market for me. The proceeds from this business will help me meet my daily needs and even pay my school fees and help my parents with some of the requirements.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to buy the school requirements as expected without necessarily having to ask my parents for assistance. I was also able to chip in and pay some of my school fees. This really is a source of motivation that I can do something, even with the little that I get.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to be in a position to help improve our home. My parents are working hard to pay for my siblings and my school fees. this forces them sometimes to forego some of the things that they may require. I want to be an a position where I can help my parents meet some of the household requirements so that they do not have to really struggle. I hope for a better future and thanks to GiveDirectly for being part of the journey.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The small amount which we have been receiving in bits from GiveDirectly has really brought a lot of differences in our current life. We used to produce a little amount of milk from our cows due to the insufficient feeds we were providing for our cows. We realized that our breeds were potential milk-producing cows and added the feeds which later resulted in some good results. In addition, we have been able to establish a business which is now running well and helps us in providing daily income for use in the family.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Having my first business with my mother doing well, this has opened up my mind to see different opportunities in my immediate surrounding. In our University, I have identified a need to establish a boutique. I got the idea after visiting the nearest market and seeing what the students always buy. Since then I have begun saving from the accrued outcome from the previous business whenever my mother sends me and now I have a good amount of money to purchase starting stock. I am still looking for a space to set up my business and God's willing it will be up and running in the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Receiving the money from GiveDirectly came as a surprise to me. At first, I thought it was just a joke similar to any other promises the politicians have been making to us in the villages which never come through. I only believed this when I received the first transfer. This rejuvenated my energy which has enabled me to start many projects and achieved many goals in my life. The biggest difference among them is the small business we started with my mother at home. As I am still in college my mother has been standing in place to manage that business and sharing tips on what to improve on it. I have seen the business grow with time and now payment of my rented house in school is no longer a problem since my mother sends me proceeds from the business.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have established my business which will be earning me some income to gather for my other personal needs. This business will supplement the initial one already started back at home. This will help me in school fee payment and facilitate my stay in college.
