How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I needed money to build my house and also pay my children tuition for this academic year. Recently things have become very tough due to low income. However, transfers received from GiveDirectly has completely changed my the lives of me and my family. I will forever remain grateful to GD for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own judgement, GiveDirectly has been very transparent in implementing this program that has helped changed the life of me and my family. Everything that GD has done thus far has been upright. At this point, I see nothing that GiveDirectly is not doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have decided to build a house for my family. Moreover, I had planned to pay 4 of my children yearly tuition. Hence, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought 1 bundle of zinc ($11,000LD) and 1 carton of nails to roof my new house. Furthermore, a huge portion ($20,000LD) of my transfer was used to pay my children yearly tuition. I am so delighted to have benefited from this grant given me by GiveDirectly.
