Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference that this transfer has brought into my life is that at first I owned nothing but now I have my own house in a stable state and a pair of oxen.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received the message at around 5 am whenI heard my phone buzzing, I thought it was the normal safaricom messages but on checking, It was from Give Directly notifying me of receiving my first transfer. Everything I was doing that day came to a standstill for the happiness that I felt was unspeakable. For the first time in life, I saw my dreams come true!
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my transfer on buying iron sheets and some other building materials for the renovation of my own house since it was in a state of collapsing. For many years I longed to re-construct it but I always failed due to financial constraints. I stayed in that house uncertain of what may befall on me in case of heavy rains. I thank GiveDirectly for the funds for my house is now stable and able to withstand any downpour. I also purchased a pair of oxen to help me do my farming early and allow for timely planting if it rains well. For the remaining amount, I am planning to buy more goats which I can at a profit in the near future.
