How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I have bought a dairy cow. I used to buy milk and it was so costly for me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by giving us money to improve our standard of living. I do find anything that GiveDirectly did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spend my second transfer on buying a dairy cow, battery, solar lamp, I also added the stock to by small business of selling groceries and the rest of the money I used it to buy food for the family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that I now have more than two sources of income; motorbike and chicken that I rear. Whenever my husband is done with the scratch card distribution, he engages in motorbike taxi to earn some money. I am also able to sell the eggs produce by my chicken at the local market. The chairs that I bought using the transfer has too, given me some peace. I no longer worry whenever I have visitors on where they would sit. I am so happy about the transfers.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was just waking up at the wee hours of the morning and on checking my phone. I had a message indicating that I had received some money from Give Directly. I got so happy and gave thanks to the Lord.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My spouse runs a distribution business where he sells airtime. He used to hire a motorbike to do this and he used to spend so much on this. When I got this money, I decided to buy a second-hand motorbike which would aid him in this business. I also bought some chicken for rearing with some part of those. I used the rest of the transfer to buy food, a solar panel and some chairs for use at home. I am now glad that my visitors would have a place to sit whenever they visit.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have always wished to engage myself in an income generating activity in order to support my husband financially, hence receiving this money will highly empower me to achieve this goal. I plan to use the money as capital to open a retail shop within the neighbourhood and also to start a poultry keeping project so as to boost my income generated from the shop.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My usual day involves herding my cattle in the morning along the roads to ensure they get enough feeds for the day. I always engage myself in my farm in the afternoon digging and weeding vegetables. The only time i get to rest with my family is in the evening which makes this time the happiest part of my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Providing basic needs for my family as well as proper health care is the biggest hardship i currently face due to unstable source of income. We mainly depend on subsistence farming for survival hence lately the farm produce is low due to poor climatic conditions thus we are forced to consume most of the produce and barely enough is left to be sold.
